NEOPAT Welcomes Our First Executive Director, Jack Newman

We are pleased and excited to announce that with a generous donation from the Dalton Foundation, we have been able to hire our first Executive Director to the NEOPAT team. Operations Specialist Chief Petty Officer (Retired) Jack Newman will be essential to helping NEOPAT grow in our success in the years to come.

Jack graduated Lakewood High School and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1986.  He  proudly served the Navy for 30 years in many capacities, including as an Air Controller during Desert Shield/Desert Storm, two tours of recruiting duty, and several 6 month at-sea cruises.  Jack was instrumental as the City Planner for Bicentennial Commemorations for the War of 1812 working with many of our local community entities.  He concluded his career as a Senior Enlisted Leader, serving on the Executive Committee for the Commander, Submarine Forces and retired from the Navy in 2016.  Jack has volunteered extensively with NEOPAT for the last 6 years, and has been an important resource for our organization.  We honored him with our first Volunteer of the Year Award in 2015.  His passion for service members and our community is unsurpassed.  It is only fitting that we announce him as our first Executive Director.

Jack is an active member of the Cleveland Chief Petty Officer Association and has volunteered for several other organizations including Honor Flight Cleveland, the Ohio Flags of Honor, U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps, the Cleveland Rotary during Tall Ships Festivals as a Ship Liaison Officer as well as a mentor for Project YESS also known as Youth Empowered to Succeed through Sailing. During the last several years, Jack has assisted in the development of a relationship between the Navy and Davis Aerospace and Maritime High School.  Recently, Jack has been serving the Boy Scouts of America as a Cubmaster.
